Explore Doha: 8 Essential Art and Culture Stops in Qatar's Capital

Explore Doha's Vibrant Art, Design, and Culture Scene: 8 Must-Visit Spots

The first-ever Design Doha event in Qatar ended in February. It definitely met expectations, as described by its artistic director, Glenn Adamson as a huge and unparalleled event covering all aspects of design in the Arab world, particularly focusing on the Middle East and North Africa. There was something for everyone at the event. You could find beautiful rugs made by Afghan women inspired by nature's colors and patterns. Also there were modern 3D printed lounges shaped like moving sand dunes pop-art posters and creative interpretations of ancient Egyptian gods turned into modern decorations. The variety of talent and creativity showcased was truly impressive.

Certainly, all of this development hasn't happened without support. The Qatari royal family notably Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani the daughter of the current Emir has been actively involved in promoting the arts. They have invested significant resources to establish world-class museums, educational facilities, public art installations, and galleries designed by renowned architects and artists.
