Exploring Ramadan Values through Katara Exhibitions
Katara Cultural Village recently opened three diverse art exhibitions as part of ongoing Ramadan activities. These exhibitions delve into the meanings of Quranic verses and the values of the holy month. The opening ceremony was attended by Katara's deputy general manager Saif Saad al-Dosari Turkish ambassador Dr. Mustafa Goksu along with artists and enthusiasts.
The first exhibition Spirit of Arabic Calligraphy by Iraqi artist Bashar Ali is located at Building 18 Hall 2. Ali creatively combines Arabic calligraphy with visual art using techniques like acrylic and oil colors to depict Quranic themes. The artworks, showcasing fruits and plants mentioned in the Quran offer visitors a unique experience with 27 captivating pieces.
Another exhibition "Remembered in the Quran" at Building 18 in collaboration with Qatar Photography Center features photos representing Quranic topics. It aims to inspire reflection on the greatness of the Creator and His creations.
The third exhibition "World Mosques in Postcards" at Building 22 showcases postcards and stamps of renowned mosques globally including those in Qatar and other countries. This exhibition celebrates the architectural diversity of mosques worldwide.
Additionally the Katara International Ramadan Chess Championship is ongoing at Katara Hall 15 until March 23. With 88 players from 14 countries participating, matches are played in the classic chess style, adding excitement to the Ramadan festivities.
